Conquer English Editing and Learning English Vocabulary by Singapore Asia Publishers are great for strengthening spelling and vocabulary skills.
Does your child make careless mistakes in their English papers? 😅 Little E is doing all right in English but she tends to make a lot of careless mistakes in the editing component where she loses marks because she spelled the words wrongly. So, I got these two assessment books from Singapore Asia Publishers for her to strengthen her spelling skills.
1) Conquer English Editing. This is based on the Editing for Spelling and Grammer component of exams and is very good practice for spotting spelling and grammar mistakes.
2) Learning English Vocabulary. This reinforces vocabulary skills and the vocabulary covered is extensive. I particularly like that it covers words with similar meanings, which can be tricky for students, and idioms, which we may not have much exposure to in everyday life.
I find for both books the level of difficulty is high and on par with exam standards, so we are focusing on these for our PSLE English prep.
