By practising with the right assessment books, the synthesis component in English exams is something you can attain full marks for.
<PROMO CODE BELOW> I'm really glad this Conquer English Synthesis & Transformation workbook from Singapore Asia Publishers has arrived! I had picked this so Little E can strengthen her grasp on synthesis & transformation. This was something Big E specifically worked on as well when in primary school.
The synthesis component in English exams is something you can easily lose marks in, but if you know your grammar rules, you can attain full marks for it. When attempting synthesis questions, my girls who read a lot go by whether the sentences sound right to them. Still, they make mistakes every now and then because they are careless (left out a word or two from the original sentence) or the questions are those they haven't encountered before. But the good thing is synthesis is something you can practise and familiarise yourself to the extent that you can get full marks.
This Conquer assessment book covers a wide range of questions. In particular, Little E finds the trickier qnses like 'direct & indirect speech' and 'who, whom, whose' very helpful. There are many more questions your child can practise on, including those in the misc section which covers less commonly seen questions like "No sooner had...than...".
