I had a lovely time at Teck Ghee Community Club's creative storytelling session on 9 April 2022 where I shared with the 9-14-year-olds (and some of their parents!) about my books and writing journey, and how they can create their own exciting stories.
I really love how enthusiastic everyone was at Q&A and there were many good questions. Amongst them, why did I decide to write a prequel to #MyBFFIsAnAlien, how do you actually write a prequel (happy to see interest in the prequel though it's not out yet! 😆), what's the ideal word count for children's fiction and what's a good way to start a story. Sorry I didn't have time to answer all the questions but I hope everyone still had fun and the kids learned a thing or two about fiction writing 🤗
Thank you Teck Ghee Community Club for organising the session! BTW, many of you had DM-ed me to ask if I'll be having other sessions for this talk as many of you weren't able to get a spot due to the limited vacancies. With the CC, it's just this session but I might be able to organise something during the June hols for the kids who missed this one. Will do some planning and keep y'all posted!

Do you have an aspiring writer at home? 😊 If so, you and/or your child might want to attend this creative storytelling and writing session I'm holding with Teck Ghee Community Club on 9 April 2022 (Sat) at 4-450pm! Other than sharing about my books and writing process, I'll also show you how you can create your own exciting novel 🤗
This Zoom session is suitable for those age 9-14 and there'll also be a Q&A segment at the end of the session, so you can ask me anything about my books or fiction writing. But do register here before 2 April as there are limited vacancies!
The CC will also be holding a writing competition with book vouchers to be won! I love its theme of friendship 😉 Do check with Teck Ghee CC for more competition details.
