Tales of Playground 游乐场传说 is a delightful Chinese picture book series that combines whimsical stories with vibrant illustrations, celebrating the iconic playgrounds of Singapore.

I love picture books that resonate with kids here, and 'Tales of Playground 游乐场传说' is a perfect example. This delightful Chinese picture book series takes inspiration from Singapore's iconic playgrounds, including the Dragon Playground and the fruit-themed playground in Tampines.

Paired with vibrant illustrations by 张嘉仁, author 洪益兴 weaves whimsical tales of these playgrounds while exploring relatable themes for children, such as getting along with friends and welcoming a new sibling.

Introducing your child to Chinese books at an early age is an excellent way to nurture their language skills, and this series is perfectly suited for children aged 3-8 years. These books also make for wonderful parent-child bonding moments with an intro to the playground and questions to spark discussions with your child at the end of each book.

And here's a lovely idea: after reading the stories, take your little ones to visit the featured playgrounds. It’s bound to spark their imagination and make the experience truly magical!

This four-book series Is now available at the webstore of WS Education and bookstores including Maha Yuyi.

The book launch of Tales of Playground 游乐场传说 is happening on 13 April (Sunday), 1030am-12pm at Punggol Regional Library.
