The newly-revamped Kidzplay area at Nex shopping mall in Singapore boasts of a fun and spacious pirate-themed water playground for kids - and it's free!
I was super excited when I saw that Nex's new water playground had opened late last year. I used to take my girls to the shopping mall's old water playground when they were young, so we have fond memories of the place and though my girls are too old for water playgrounds already, I couldn't wait to see what Nex comes up with at its water play area.
Well, having now seen the revamped water playground, I kinda wished my girls were small and I can take them there again - they always have so much fun and can easily spend at least an hour at water playgrounds. Anyway, if you're thinking of taking your kid to the new water playground at Nex, here are 5 things to know:
1) What's at Nex's water playground?
The playground area at Nex is called Kidzplay and the theme for its water playground is Pirates Sea Adventure. The highlights there are a pirate ship...
...and a huge octopus!
And of course there are the usual water buckets, fountains, water spouts and playground fixtures. The area is bright and spacious with seats at the side for supervising adults.
The water playground is for children age 5-12 years old. There's also a dry playground beside the water playground for children 2-5 years old.
2) Is there a changing area?
Yes, there is a changing area there but it does look to be rather small. There is also a toilet opposite the water playground.
3) What are the playground's opening hours?
The water play area and the dry playground are open 11am-7pm daily but will be closed during wet weather. Do note that children need to be accompanied by adults.
4) What to wear?
Children can wear tee-shirt, shorts or swimwear at the water playground. Do slap on sunblock too as it's an unsheltered space.
5) Where are the playgrounds located?
The wet and dry playgrounds are located on the rooftop 4R level of Nex shopping mall. Nex mall is connected to Serangoon MRT station.
I really love that there are so many beautiful and free water playgrounds in Singapore that we can take our children to. We definitely went to quite a few when the girls were younger.
